1. Who we are
KenyaTaskers is a task marketplace that connects workers in Kenya with AI training, data labeling, and related micro-tasks, with earnings paid via M-Pesa where applicable.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
- Email address and password (stored in hashed form)
- Phone number (optional; required for M-Pesa payments and withdrawals)
- Account status, plan tier, credits, trial usage, and member-since date
- Quality rating, submission history, and suspension-related metadata where applicable
2.2 Identity verification (KYC)
When your total lifetime earnings reach $30 USD, we require identity verification before withdrawals. This may include:
- Full name, national ID number, location, and KRA PIN
- Photographs of your ID (front and back) and a face photo
- Verification status: unverified, pending, verified, or rejected
Verification documents are stored securely on our servers and reviewed only by authorised administrators.
2.3 Task and payment data
- Task answers and submission content you provide
- Review ratings, payment eligibility, and earnings balances
- M-Pesa / Pesapal payment records, transaction references, and withdrawal requests
2.4 Technical data
- Browser type, device information, and IP address (standard server logs)
- Session tokens used to keep you logged in
- Cookies and local storage used for authentication and basic site functionality
3. How we use your information
- Create and manage your account
- Assign tasks, process submissions, calculate ratings and earnings
- Enforce account status rules (active, suspended, closed, or deleted)
- Process plan purchases and M-Pesa withdrawals
- Verify identity when required by law or platform policy
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate accounts
- Improve our services and respond to support requests
- Comply with applicable Kenyan law and lawful requests from authorities
4. Account status and data retention
Your account may be active, suspended, closed, or deleted as described in our Terms & Conditions.
- Suspended accounts: We retain your data while investigating quality issues or policy violations. Access is restricted until the suspension is lifted or the account is closed.
- Closed accounts: Login is disabled. We may retain records for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.
- Deleted accounts: Your email is anonymised and login is permanently disabled. We may retain anonymised transaction and submission records where required by law.
Verification documents may be deleted after a reasonable period following account closure, unless retention is required by law.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Payment processors (e.g. Pesapal, M-Pesa) to complete purchases and withdrawals
- Task partners only as needed to deliver anonymised or aggregated training data — not your email or ID unless explicitly required and disclosed
- Service providers who host our infrastructure under confidentiality obligations
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process in Kenya
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and restricted access to verification files. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable Kenyan data-protection law, you may:
- Access and update your profile information (phone, verification details)
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Withdraw consent for optional processing where consent is the legal basis

8. Children
KenyaTaskers is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us to request deletion.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
